Austrian Research at deep-sea hydrothermal vents

I have been on many research cruises since 1992 when I visited for the first time the volcano on the Pacific Fire Ring with the submersible Alvin. Horst Felbeck from Scripps Institution of Oceanography invited me to this very first cruise. Since then, many U.S. researchers invited me to the East Pacific Rise volcano. Twice the Austrian Science Fund payed a lot of money for a few dives. Some people that joined me already then will be onboard Falkor_(too) in July.
